Stud Poker Terms

Add on - A refill of chips offered within a tournament for a fee.

Ante - A forced bet.

Burn - Process where the dealer will discard the top card of the deck, placing it face down next to the deck without revealing the value to players.

Buy in - A fee set for entry into a tournament so that a prize pool can be created.

Community Cards - Cards which are dealt face up in the center of the poker table and can be used by all players to make their best hand.

Rebuy - A chance to re-enter the tournament after been eliminated by paying the buy in fee again

Showdown - The end of a particular hand where the players remaining turn over their cards to determine who won.

Sökö - A variant of five card stud poker that was created in Finland.
